The Newcastle Knights have signed Queenslander Aidan Guerra on a three-year deal starting from 2018.

Guerra will join the Knights from the Sydney Roosters, where he has played 140 NRL matches since his debut in 2010.

The 29-year-old forward is seen a key signing for the club.

"Aidan will be a great addition to our young side," CEO Matt Gidley told Knights.com.au.

"Aidan is a representative and premiership-winning player who will bring athleticism, experience and leadership to our team from a very successful career to date."

Player radar active

While pleased with Guerra’s signing, recruitment remains ongoing at the Knights.

"The club will continue to monitor the player market and recruit players who can complement the emerging players in our roster," Gidley added.

Guerra has played 10 Origin matches for the Maroons, including Game I in May. He was not selected for Game II in Sydney on Wednesday (June 21).
