A grand final rematch highlights an exciting second round in the South-East Queensland Women’s Division 1 competition.
Three-time defending champions Burleigh will travel to take on their 2017 grand final opponents, Brothers Ipswich.
Both teams are coming into the game on the back of good wins in Round 1, with Brothers Ipswich shutting out West Brisbane Panthers 34-0 while Burleigh knocked over Easts Tigers 24-12.
Burleigh’s win was particularly impressive given the circumstances. They fielded just 13 players as several of their representative stars were missing due to various other obligations, but still dug deep and notched a crucial first round win.
Chelsea Lenarduzzi was the star, scoring a double, while Amber Pilley, Tallisha Harden and Zahara Temara also scored for the Bears.
Brothers meanwhile set the early pace for the competition with a big win over the Panthers.
Courtney Robinson scored twice, while Ali Brigginshaw, Brittany Breayley, Maitua Feterika, Siniva Pauline Falaniko Ah Ki and Tanika Marshall all crossed in the seven try rout.
With Brothers dominating in Round 1 and Burleigh expecting firepower back for Round 2, the stage is set for a massive second round clash this Sunday at 4.30pm at Blue Ribbon Motors Field.
Elsewhere, Easts Tigers host Toowoomba at 6.30pm on Saturday night in a game where both will be looking for their first win of the year.
The Tigers were unable to knock over an understrength Bears last week despite a double from Jillaroos star Karina Brown. Toowoomba, meanwhile, fell just four points short of a first round win over Souths Magpies.
The final game of the round, to be played on Sunday at 4.45pm at Davies Park, will see Souths Magpies take on Wests Brisbane Panthers.
The Panthers were unable to get on the board last week and will be looking for an improved effort against a Magpies team fresh off a tight round one win.
