Rugby League Brisbane is continuing with their "Growing the Game" initiative, with girls-only Gala Days to be held from this month until August.
Last year, an Under 6 Gala Day was introduced as a playing option, with the success of the event leading to the extension of the program this year.
Divisions in the Under 8s, Under 10s and Under 12s age groups have been added, with four-six teams expected in each age group.
Currently, girls in these age groups play in mixed-teams as there are no girls-only teams.
These new Gala Days are chance for girls to come together with a focus on having a fun, enjoyable and social experience while learning new skills.
Each team in each age group will play four Gala Day matches over the months of May to August as the emerging demographic of young girls playing rugby league continues to grow across the region.
