The Queensland Rugby League is pleased to announce the appointment of Glenn Ottaway to the newly-created position of Regional General Manager.
In his current role as the Central Region Manager, Glenn has been responsible for budgeting and planning activity as well as increasing participation and retention across the region.
Improving governance throughout local leagues and clubs has also been a major part of his charter.
Ottaway, who commenced the Central role in late 2014, currently leads a team of 16 regional employees.
He said he valued the support of QRL and NRL staff, board, leagues and clubs in Central Division.
"It is really these groups that sustain and grow our game," Ottaway said.
Prior to his role with the Central Region, Ottaway held the following positions:
- CEO of the Mackay Cutters
- Chairman for Mackay and District Rugby League
- Head of Physical Education at Mackay State High School,
- Head of Humanities at Sarina State High School
- Regional Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Queensland Academy of Sport.
QRL Managing Director Robert Moore congratulated Ottaway on his appointment.
"Glenn brings with him a strong understanding of the operation across the State, the challenges that our regional teams face, and the opportunities that we can pursue to grow the game," Moore said.
Ottaway forms part of the QRL Senior Leadership team and will commence in his new role on November 1.
