After four tough days of competition; the 2018 Murri Carnival wrapped earlier this month with two new champions crowned in the Open Men’s and Open’s Women’s divisions.
Held for the first time in North Queensland, the home of the Bindal Sharks saw plenty of talent on show across the QRL-sanctioned tournament.
As well as thanking all the participants, volunteers and fans who turned out each day to make the event a success; the Bindal Sharks also thanked the QRL Northern Division (Region) for their fulsome support of the tournament in a detailed Facebook post after the event.
Chairperson of Bindal Sharks Professor Roianne West said it was a great few days and was proud to be able to deliver the event.
“The legacy of the late Arthur Beetson lives on through the QMC and Arthur Beetson Foundation, it made is so special to have his son Brad Beetson and Grandson Jack Beetson in attendance.”
Congratulations to the winners Skytrans Wenlock RV Stallions (Men’s) and Emu Girls (Women’s).
