PNG Hunters trim 2019 squad

Following a break over the Christmas and New Year’s period – the PNG Hunters will resume the pre-season training tomorrow (Monday, January 7, 2019).

Ten more players have been released from their initial 60-player squad; which was further trimmed in late October.

Tomorrow’s first training session of 2019 will see 32 players resume pre-season with the club.

Hunters coach Michael Marum said the 32 players will return to camp in Port Moresby.

“In consultation with the coaching staff, we are now trimming the squad to those players who can fill the positions and sustain a long season,” Marum said.

Marum also had plenty of positives to say to the players who have been released in this latest squad announcement.

“We have given them programs to continue training and have advised them on areas they need to improve on,” Marum said.

“We hope that they share what they have experienced in the Hunters program with their respective clubs and continue to improve and better their standards.”
