Ipswich Jets secure naming rights sponsor

The Ipswich Jets have announced Savige Pest Control as naming rights sponsor for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

From this moment on, the team will be known as the Savige Pest Control Ipswich Jets.

The Savige family have a rich history with the Ipswich Jets, which stretches back generations.

CEO Richard Hughes said “it made sense” for the two identities to join together.

“When talking to potential partners early on, it soon became obvious that it made complete sense for Savige Pest Control to play a significant part in the upcoming two seasons, which will see a strong period of growth for the club across the region,” he said.

“The time, dedication and devotion the Savige family have given to the Ipswich Jets over many years has been second to none.

“The fact that we can proudly show that now, on the front of a jersey for all to see, is a wonderful recognition of that support.”

Ipswich Jets Chairman Steve Johnson backed up those comments.

“I have known the Savige family for 25 years and most of the support they have provided over that time has always been without fanfare and often goes unnoticed,” Johnson said.

“We are delighted that such a strong, well respected, family business so closely associated with the club, have chosen to be the naming rights sponsor.”

The Savige Pest Control Ipswich Jets have an exciting year ahead with a roster full of upcoming talent as well as established names returning to the region and others simply returning for another year.

All of the coaching staff and players have had three weeks of trials, and are now set for round one.

Savige Pest Control Bill Savige said he was happy to join with the Jets.

“I grew up in a family where the Ipswich Jets were such a key part of our childhood and have some wonderful memories as a result,” Savige said.

“The fact we can support the Savige Pest Control Ipswich Jets in such a significant way now, is a true privilege and goes way beyond just a traditional sponsorship.”

The Savige Pest Control Ipswich Jets first game is on March 10, 2019 starting from 10am as Defence Force Appreciation Day at North Ipswich Reserve.
