Brisbane Broncos players to ride into Cairns in August

The Brisbane Broncos are hitting the road and heading to Cairns next month.

Broncos stars Tevita Pangai jnr, Jack Bird and Matt Gillett will be special guests at Brothers Leagues Club at an event on Friday, August 9 from 6.30pm.

The audience will hear stories from the trio about their current on-field careers, as well as anecdotes about their lives away from the rugby league spotlight.

Since his debut with the club in 2010, second rower Gillett has played close to 200 NRL games, but only took to the field for five games last season due to a bad neck injury.

This year, Gillett has returned to the Broncos and played the 2019 season refreshed after recovering from a fractured neck and shoulder reconstruction which saw him named again in the Queensland Maroons side.

After becoming a starting player in the Broncos last year, the bustling Tongan international Pangai jnr had a break-out year in 2018 which showcased his powerful running.

The talented youngster who is known as one of the most destructive forwards has racked up close to 70 NRL games and represented Tonga four times.

Centre Jack Bird  Broncos has unfortunately been plagued with injuries - but in the opening weeks of the 2019 season, Bird showed signs of form, but a ACL injury in Round 9 has left him sidelined for the rest of this season.

Proceeds raised from the raffle will be donated to Cairns District Junior Rugby League and every guest attending will go home with a 2019 Broncos Captain’s Membership.

Tickets are $120 per person or $1150 for a table of 10 which includes a three-course dinner, premium beverage package, entertainment and a Broncos membership.

Numbers are limited for the 18+ event and dress is smart casual.

Tickets can be purchased online via this link.
