The 40 that forged Queensland

In celebration of 40 years of State of Origin and the Queensland Maroons, Queensland Rugby League, in partnership with XXXX, today launches 'The 40 that forged Queensland'. 

The countdown video series highlights 40 moments, people or actions that have helped shape the Maroons and what it is to be a Queenslander. 

When you think about the Maroons, what do you think about?

There's the passion, the never-say-die attitude. There's Artie Beetson, Wally Lewis, Alfie Langer. There's XXXX, there's Lang Park now Suncorp Stadium. 

There's so many elements that make up what it is to be a Queenslander and what makes people so proud to don maroon. 

The series launches with number 40 - the birth of Origin.

Without it, we wouldn't have had 40 years of outstanding rugby league memories, moments and milestones.
