Maroons and PUMA unleash new jersey

The Queensland Rugby League, in conjunction with major Queensland Maroons partner PUMA, is excited to officially unveil its new playing kit ahead of the 2021 Ampol State of Origin series.

With less than 100 days until Game I, the global sportswear brand is backing the Maroons every step of the way through its “unleash the future” campaign.

Maroons forward and PUMA ambassador Felise Kaufusi said he “loved the look and feel” of the new kit, which he was thrilled to pull on for the first time as part of PUMA’s reveal video.

“It’s always an honour to wear the Maroons jersey and it’s something that I never take for granted,” Kaufusi said.

“I’ll be doing everything I can to put my hand up for selection again, and that starts now with consistent performances at club level.”

QRL chief operating officer Rohan Sawyer said today’s jersey launch with PUMA reinforced the Maroons’ passion for Origin.

“With partnerships like this, there is no doubt the Queensland Maroons have an exciting future, which is set to inspire and motivate the next generation of brave, confident and determined players across the state,” Sawyer said.

Today’s highly-anticipated jersey reveal comes off the back of a milestone year where the Maroons celebrated a series win and paid homage to the past 40 years of Origin, wearing a traditional jersey with historic branding.

Following the series win, the QRL released a new Maroons logo, which signifies the start of a new era with the next generation of players at the helm.

This logo now proudly sits on the chest of the 2021 jersey – a major feature of the modern jersey in full-colour maroon with white trim.

The sleek kit design is part of an exciting extended range of official 2021 Maroons apparel which will launch on MaroonsShop in the lead up to the 2021 series.

The official replica playing jersey is available now on MaroonsShop and across major sports retailers from March 10 in men’s, women’s, youth and infant sizes.
