New presenting partner to drive super coverage

The Queensland Rugby League is proud to announce Supercheap Auto as the inaugural Q+ broadcast presenting partner for 2021.

This announcement comes just days after the QRL’s launch of its six statewide competitions, which will this year see a staggering 2300 players from 20 clubs and 78 teams take the field.

QRL chief operating officer Rohan Sawyer said the partnership with another proud Queensland brand in the calibre of Supercheap Auto reflected the growth and quality of its competitions.

“We are thrilled to have Supercheap Auto on board as our inaugural Q+ broadcast presenting partner for 2021,” Sawyer said.

“Supercheap Auto are no strangers to investment to sport in Australia and have seen the value in our new broadcast product linking their products to our fans.”

Supercheap Auto is also enthused about becoming fully integrated into the fabric of Q+ Intrust Super Cup broadcasts for the 2021 season.

“There has always been a great synergy between our brand and rugby league fans in Queensland, and we look forward to working hand in hand with the QRL in bringing together our audiences,” Supercheap general manager of ecommerce and marketing Andre Korte said.

The relaunching of the Intrust Super Cup for the 2021 season will see the likes of Karmichael Hunt (Souths Logan Magpies), Gerard Beale (Brisbane Tigers) and Sami Sauiluma (Burleigh Bears) take the field.

“After a long wait, we are thrilled for the broadcast to be kicking off this weekend where we will be reaching more fans than ever before,” Sawyer said.

The first game of the season will feature the PNG Hunters and Wynnum Manly Seagulls at the Hunters’ adopted home ground, Bycroft Oval, at 2:40pm.

Fans will be able to view all of the action exclusively on Kayo Freebies.

Intrust Super Sundays will kick off the following day as the Souths Logan Magpies take on 2019 premiers the Burleigh Bears at Davies Park at 2.10pm.

Intrust Super Sundays will be available to view on a range of streaming channels, including QRL.com.au, Intrust Super Cup app, NRL Network, 9Now and Kayo.
