Statewide score wrap: A wet and wild weekend

It was a wet and wild weekend of footy across Queensland as severe weather hampered a number of matches scheduled in the south east of the state.

Although not being faced with the typhoon-like conditions that revellers at Davies Park experienced yesterday, the deluge put ball security firmly on the agenda in Round 2 of the Sunshine Coast competition - the only community rugby league senior competition to have kicked off so far in 2021.

Round 1 highlights: Magpies v Bears

In the final game on Saturday, two tries to Beerwah's Reece Vincent got the Dogs over the line against Caloundra at Tinonee Oval; whilst it was an emotionally-charged Sunday afternoon tussle between Caboolture and Maroochydore with the Snakes dedicating yesterday's match to the late Dale Best. In the match, the Swans too strong for the home side, thanks to a Sam Davey double.
