Round 6, 2002 - Norths Devils v North Queensland Young Guns

This clash is a real blast from the Queensland Cup past... the days when Gerry Collins, David Wright and Warren Boland graced our screens every Saturday at 2pm and the North Queensland Young Guns were playing as the feeder side to the North Queensland Cowboys. It also featured a very young Billy Slater on the wing when he was just starting out in the state's top grade for the Devils, who were also stacked with Queenslanders Dallas Johnson, Chris Walker and NRL prospects Paul Whaturia, Semi Tadulala, Marc Brentnall, Wade Fenton and Clint Amos. The Young Guns had Chris Sheppard in the centres, a lethal halves pairing of John Doyle and Aaron Payne, forwards Jaiman Lowe and Michael Luck and current Townsville Blackhawks football operations manager Adrian 'Happy' Thomson was their coach.

Grand final, 2008 - Ipswich Jets v Souths Logan Magpies

North Ipswich Reserve was packed to the rafters for this nail-biting classic to decide the 2008 title. The Jets were coached by Ipswich favourite son Kevin Walters and featured a raft of stars, including Cup legends Donald Malone and Danny Coburn alongside talented NRL halves Josh Lewis and Ian Lacey. Souths Logan - who were forced to take the long road to the big dance - had notable inclusions Quentin Laulu-Togaga'e, Brad Cross, Liam McDonald and Phil Dennis. With the scores locked at 18-18 for almost 20 minutes nearing full-time, who could've predicted how the then Queensland Wizard Cup was decided?
