Queensland Rugby League is proud to announce a new multi-year partnership with Elgin Valley Farms, who are thrilled to become the QRL’s official poultry partner.
Family owned and operated for more than five decades, Elgin Valley Farms has grown from a small number of local chicken farms into a network of around 60 farms across South East Queensland, helping ensure Queenslanders can enjoy responsibly farmed, quality chicken week in, week out.
Now they are extending their passion for all things Queensland by becoming an official partner of the QRL, backing grassroots rugby league and both the Queensland Maroons men’s team and the Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons women’s team.
From the 2027 season, Elgin Valley Farms will also feature prominently on the shorts of Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons players, further highlighting their support of women’s rugby league in Queensland.
“At Elgin Valley Farms, we’ve always believed in backing our local communities and celebrating what makes Queensland special,” CEO of Elgin Valley Farms Dennis Stark said.
“This partnership with the Queensland Rugby League is a natural extension of that commitment. Like the Maroons, we’re built on hard work, resilience and pride in where we come from.
“We’re incredibly proud to support both the men’s and women’s teams and to play a role in the continued growth of rugby league across the state. It’s about championing Queensland success – on the field and on the table.”
QRL chief executive officer Ben Ikin said the partnership was a natural fit, as it brought together two proud Queensland organisations with deep local roots.
“This is an important partnership for the Queensland Rugby League,” Ikin said.
“Elgin Valley Farms is a proudly Queensland-owned and operated business with a long history of supporting local communities, and that aligns strongly with the values of our game and our Maroons teams.
“To have a partner that feeds Queensland families every week now backing our state’s elite teams is something we’re incredibly proud of, particularly as Elgin Valley Farms are all about Queensland-grown success.”
Spanning South East Queensland, Elgin Valley Farms’ footprint stretches from the valleys of Toowoomba to the Glasshouse Mountains, with its heart firmly based at Mount Cotton.
About Elgin Valley Farms – Our Story
It all started back in 1973, when two Queensland families — the Benfers and the Elks — decided to do chicken farming differently. They believed in a better way: raising birds with care, respecting the land, and delivering quality food to tables. That belief became Golden Cockerel, and from there, the brand we know and love today: Elgin Valley Farms.
Today, those same values guide everything we do. We’ve grown from a few local farms to a network spanning South East Queensland. From the valleys of Toowoomba to the Glasshouse Mountains, and our heart at Mount Cotton, these aren’t just places on a map. They’re part of who we are. Generations of farmers have worked these lands, and their experience shows in everything we do.
Even in our growth, we’ve never lost sight of what matters. Passion, care, adaptability, growth and dependability aren’t just words on a wall. They’re how we operate every single day.
