Yarrabah, Woodford and the Whitsundays will next month all host Intrust Super Cup games for the first time as part of the competitions Country Week Round.

Round 20 will be spread far and wide with further matches scheduled for Toowoomba, Roma and the Gold Coast.

The August 4 match at Toowoombas Clive Berghofer Stadium will feature title contenders the Ipswich Jets and Wynnum Manly Seagulls and will be televised live on Channel 9.

The Toowoomba City Golf Club has partnered with the QRL to bring a Cup match back to the Garden City for the first time since the 06 semi-final between the Clydesdales and Redcliffe Dolphins.

Toowoomba won the inaugural Cup competition in 1996, so in many ways its fitting that the city will be a focal point of our 2013 Country Week Round, QRL chairman Peter Betros said today.

The QRL would love nothing more than to see Toowoomba back in our premier statewide competition in the future.

A corporate lunch will be held in Toowoomba before the Jets v Seagulls match, with former Bulldogs and NSW star Andrew Ryan the special guest.

Ryan, who currently works as an NRL One Community ambassador, will also be a guest commentator on Channel 9s coverage.

Betros said the Country Week Round would provide an enormous boost for the code in regional areas.

Were very proud to be able to take the Intrust Super Cup to Yarrabah, Woodford and the Whitsundays for the first time, Betros said.

For the code to remain strong and vibrant at the highest level, we need healthy local competitions.

You only have to look at the backgrounds of a host of XXXX Queensland Maroons players to get a gauge on how important country rugby league is to our code.

Yarrabah, the home town of new North Queensland Cowboys signing Hezron Murgha, will host the big clash between the Northern Pride and Souths Logan Magpies.

Murgha will line up for the Pride, one of the leading contenders for this years premiership.

The beautiful Whitsundays will provide the perfect backdrop to the clash between the Norths Devils and Mackay Cutters.

Woodford, a small town 24km west of Caboolture, will host the Round 20 game between the Sunshine Coast and Tweed Heads.

In a huge boost for rugby league in the south west, Roma will host its first Cup match since the 1999 game between Toowoomba and Redcliffe when the Dolphins return to town for a must-win game against the Central Queensland Capras.

Closing out the unique round is the clash on the Gold Coast between the Burleigh Bears and the Easts Tigers.
