New Norths Devils coach Mark Gliddon has been encouraged by his squads pre-season progress.

After guiding the Devils FOGS Cup team in 2013, Gliddon is excited about his first foray into the Intrust Super Cup head coaching ranks.

Gliddon takes the reins from Andrew Wynyard, who took the Nundah club to a sixth-placed finish this year.

Were going OK, weve got a lot of new guys so its probably about bonding and bringing them together, the former Wests Panthers FOGS Cup coach said.

A few guys have retired and some have moved on to other clubs. Weve had two Saturday sessions so far. The boys arent lacking enthusiasm, put it that way.

Gliddon is being assisted by Queensland Rangers coach Paul Lowe.

He does a bit for the Broncos and is very knowledgeable, Gliddon said.
