It was a case of deja vu for the Centrals Tigers in Round 12 of the TDRL after they were comprehensively beaten by the Herbert River Crushers 52‒22 at Kern Brothers Drive on Saturday afternoon.

It was the Tigers who started the better of the two teams racing in two quick tries within the first few minutes.

However, the Tigers let the Crushers back into the match with poor execution and sloppy errors as was the case the previous week against the University Saints.

However it was a vastly different side for the Tigers who ran out against the Crushers with up to 10 regular first graders back after they were unavailable through injury and work commitments the previous week.

Unfortunately, the bolstered squad could do little as the Crushers ran riot on the Tigers fringe defence.

Centrals started well with some strong running and an effective kicking game, however were quickly forced into numerous errors by the experienced Crushers defence.

The Crushers were clinical in their ball movement and it showed on the score line with the outside backs having a field day tearing through the at times non-existent Tigers defence.

North Queensland Cowboys under 20 player Aaron Solari was outstanding for the visitors grabbing a hat-trick on his way to man of the match honours.

Solari was supported by captain and front-row charger Todd Cockburn who led from the front crossing for a pair of unexpected tries as well.

The result ensured back to back losses for the Tigers and seems to have stalled their brilliant momentum.
