A Southern Cape team has been selected after the first round of the Southern Cape Cluster in Cooktown over the weekend. 

The team will contest the North Queensland Challenge this weekend with players vying for selection in the Northern United side to face Queensland Outback on Thursday Island on July 19.

The competing teams are Bowen, Palm Island, Southern Cape, Northern Cape and Torres Strait.

Games will be played at Stan Williams Park in Cairns on June 28-29 with Saturday's Round 1 matches kicking off at 9.30am.
