Finals draw: Week 2

The Ipswich Jets remain alive in the 2014 Intrust Super Cup premiership race after beating Tweed Heads Seagulls 28-10 in today’s Elimination Final at Piggabeen.

The Jets will now tackle the Wynnum Manly Seagulls, who were beaten 18-12 by the Easts Tigers at BMD Kougari Oval today.

Easts will travel to Cairns to play the Northern Pride on Saturday night with a grand final berth up for grabs.

In the FOGS Cup, Easts Tigers eliminated Norths Devils 30-8. Easts will now have a week off and will play the loser of next weekend’s qualifying final between Redcliffe and Wynnum Manly.

Next weekend’s Colts action will see the Burleigh Bears host Redcliffe with the winner advancing to the September 28 grand final at Suncorp Stadium.

Wynnum Manly Seagulls and the Sunshine Coast Falcons will fight out the minor semi-final. The Falcons edged out Tweed 32-30 at Piggabeen today, while Wynnum Manly went down 26-10 to Redcliffe but the Seagulls will receive one more chance courtesy of their top three finish.
