Round 2 review:

In hot humid conditions, players took to the fields at Victoria Park to play in round 2 games which were postponed due to Cyclone Marcia.

In the Under 13 games, North’s continued their winning way with a tough win over Brothers White who were down on numbers due to illness. Brothers Blue opened their account for 2015 with a strong victory over Gracemere.

Brothers are looking strong in the Under 14 age group, with Brothers White defeating North’s in a tight game, while Brothers Blue have continued their attacking form with a strong win over Gracemere.

The Under 15 Brothers White v Norths game provided some entertaining football.

It was Brothers that got home in the end, Brothers Blue again proved they are contenders for this year title with a solid win over the Gracemere Cubs.

The Under 16 game was hit hard by players unavailable due to Cyril Connell commitments in Toowoomba.

Brothers held out a tough Norths outfit after losing big hard running prop Brock West early in the game to injury. They were assisted with some Under 15 players backing up from the game previous.

The final game of the day proved to be the tightest contest with Brothers sneaking home. Again both sides were heavily reduced of players due to Capras commitments and both teams struggled to field full sides.

Round 4 preview:

This week we will return to full action. This weekend’s games will be round 4 with round 3 to be played later in the year.

We also see the annual Gracemere Cubs Under 18 verse the Old Boys game.

This event has been in place for a few years now with Cubs Old Boys returning for a day of celebration at Gracemere and prove to the young fellas they still have what it takes to knock over their younger players.

This year is the 18th birthday for the club and they invite all past and present players to Cedric Archer Park for the celebration.

With that the Under 18 game against North’s was moved to Wednesday and the Cubs would like to thank North’s for accommodating this change for the celebrations. Gracemere won that game 40-10.
