Intrust Super Cup round 7 Highlights - PNG Hunters V Mackay Cutters at Kalabond Oval, Kokopo. 2.30pm Sunday April 19, 2015.
Hunters hold on against the Cutters
A late second half surge was not enough to get the Cutters a win over the Hunters at Kokopo last Sunday afternoon, with the home side holding on to record a 26-24 win.
The Cutters were aiming for their sixth straight victory, while PNG were looking to get back on track with a win after two tough away losses.
The Hunters started the match well with Thompson Teteh scoring in his return to the team and held a 20-6 lead at halftime.
However, after scoring one more try to start the second half for a 26-6 lead, they let Mackay back in the game – with the visitors crossing for the next three tries.
It was not enough however, and the Hunters held on for win number three.
PNG HUNTERS 26 (Israel Eliab 2, Thompson Teteh, Wartovo Puara, Kato Ottio tries; Noel Zeming 3 goals) def MACKAY CUTTERS 24 (Josh Chudleigh 2, Sam Clune, Liam Taylor tries; Liam Taylor 4 goals) at Kalabond Oval, Kokopo
