Burnett Heads hosted this week’s NDRL fixtures in very windy conditions which affected some teams’ goal kicking.

Gin Gin beat Agnes Water 60-42 with Todd Blair scoring four and Chris Jensen scoring three for the Hawks. Tim McIntosh shone again scoring five out of his club’s nine tries for the afternoon. The game was marred with players from the Hawks being sin-binned and sent off. The Hawks will have to be more disciplined next week in their endeavour to make the 2015 semi-finals.

South Kolan beat Miriam Vale 42-8. Feingaola Blake scored one try and kicked five goals for the Sharks. Steven Brooks and Adam Hansen were the only point scorers for the Magpies. Miriam Vale didn’t have a bench and the result could of been different if they had of have reserves.

In the main game Burnett Heads took on third place Avondale Tigers and only just went down in a thriller 14-16. Avondale will need to regroup as there is only one more round before finals.

Thank you to the ladies who attended the NRL Women in League workshop and luncheon. Jillaroo Renae Kunst spoke about her experiences in rugby league which was inspiring. Thanks to Central Division for bringing us the opportunity to attend such an event.

Next week fixtures will be hosted by Gin Gin in the last round. 12 noon Miriam Vale verse Avondale, 1.30 Agnes Water v South Kolan and 3pm main game Gin Gin v Burnett Heads.
