It may be the start of May, but warm conditions were met by all players over the weekend.
Again there were some entertaining games played and with three weeks left to the finals, all teams are making their plays to get into finals contention.
Under 13 saw an entertaining game between Brothers and Norths. Both sides have been the benchmark this year and with Norths taking the first encounter Brothers were out to turn it around.
Both sides played an entertaining brand of football with Brothers managing to hold on 18-10. Gracemere continued on their way to the finals with a win over Cap Coast, while Yeppoon and Tigers managed good wins.
With a number of sides looking to cement finals positions, this past weekend’s Under 14 games were very important. Norths hosted Brothers and there was very little between these two sides last time and this week there was even less. When fulltime was sounded they were all locked up at 24-24.
Yeppoon and Emu Park was a tough game with Yeppoon getting home by 8, Cap Coast defeated Gracemere and Tigers had the night off when Fitzroy's were unable to get a side together.
The Under 15 competition is taking shape. Brothers Blue got away with its second win of the year against Norths, Fitzroy's continued their undefeated year getting home against Brothers White and Yeppoon were too good for Emu Park.
Emu Park Under 16s had a good win over Yeppoon on Friday night, Brothers and Norths played a very tough game with all Cyril Connell players back with Brothers winning in a close affair and Cap Coast accounted for Fitzroy's.
The Under 18 competition saw all Mal Meninga Players returning and the last three weeks will be good tough football. Cap Coast was too good for Brothers White Yeppoon defeated Emu Park in a close affair and Brothers Blue showed their premiership credentials with a big win over Norths.
Next week sees some very interesting contests with Norths hosting Tigers in the u13 and 14 competition with the winner of the Under 14 game likely to get through to the semi finals.
Cap Coast will host Brothers with the Under 18 game to be a high quality game. Fitzroy's are at home to Emu Park with the Under 16 game sure to have plenty of action and Yeppoon are at Barmaryee Oval taking on Gracemere, Brothers Blue and Norths, get there early as the Yeppoon Gracemere Under 13 game will be all quality while Brothers look to go back to back.
