Queensland Maroons skipper Cameron Smith chatted to media before the team headed to Sydney earlier today.

Smith - who is set to break Darren Lockyer's 36 games appearence record on Wednesday night - said preparations have been good for the team despite Cooper Cronk's injury.

He praised possible halves replacement Michael Morgan and also spoke his own early days in the game with Brisbane Norths.
