Queensland have dominated the Australian Universities team chosen for next year’s World Cup in Sydney.
In one of the biggest splits in University rugby league history, the student Maroons’ garnered 15 of the 21 spots in the national side.
That was thanks to the commanding 40-6 win Queensland produced on Saturday at Suzuki Stadium.
The Australian Universities team will assemble for a camp in February ahead of the Universities World Cup, which will be held next July.
It will be coached by former NRL mentor Matt Elliott, with Tweed Heads’ Intrust Super Cup coach Aaron Zimmerle to be his assistant.
