Every Toowoomba Junior Rugby League club recorded a victory in Round 3, which is a fantastic reflection of the TJRL competition.

It was an outstanding day for junior rugby league at Brothers where they celebrated the Johnson Family Fun Day.

Dalby and Valleys had a even day with their on-field behaviour being commended and it was great to see the Oakey Bears record their first victory of the season against Gatton.

The best match over the weekend was a tough and exciting Under 13 match at Pittsworth against the Valleys Roosters.

Both teams were neck-and-neck throughout the whole contest, but it was the home side who got the win 24-22 over Valleys.

Toowoomba Junior Rugby League President Dan Aldons said the behaviour at matches in the first three rounds has been excellent by all and hoped the good behaviour continued throughout the season.

“It is commendable that we haven’t had to convene a judiciary or disciplinary tribunal so far this season,” Aldons said.

Aldon believes the good behaviour is a result of the TJRL’s continued message -

It’s positive, or it’s pointless.

“I would like to thank the clubs and their players, spectators and officials for enjoying junior rugby league without the need to engage in unsportsmanlike behaviour,” he said.

In extension to Toowoomba's message, local leagues across Queensland, including the TJRL, will support a wonderful, new initiative with Let Kids Be Kids round next weekend to encourage better sideline behaviour in all junior sports.
