As night fell on the Gold Coast on Wednesday, the Queensland Maroons assembled for the official 2018 team photograph.

The image is the first team photograph in full kit with Greg Inglis as newly appointed captain.

It features debutants-to-be Jai Arrow, Felise Kaufusi and Andrew McCullough.

Photographer Scott Davis did the honours, using a backdrop custom-built by the team at Channel Nine.

After the team photo was complete, players remained behind to shoot some captivating motion graphics for Channel Nine, as the breeze from the Coomera River carried smoke across the camp fields.

Earlier in the day the team appeared at a  public signing session in Brisbane's Queen Street Mall, where they also released the first Queensland Indigenous training jersey.

The Maroons take on New South Wales at the Melbourne Cricket Ground next Wednesday, June 6 in Game I of the Holden State of Origin series.
