Strasser to captain Poinsettias at State Carnival

The South East Queensland Poinsettias squad has been reduced to a final group of 19 to compete at this weekend's QRL State Carnival at Owen Park, Southport.

The Poinsettias team features the best of the BRL A Grade In Safe Hands Cup and will be captained by Panthers halfback Zach Strasser.

West Brisbane Panthers currently lead the In Safe Hands Cup and six of their players will be represented in the 19-man squad.

The Dolphins, who finished runners-up in 2017 and currently sit in second place on the ladder, also have six players in the squad while defending premiers Valleys have three.

The Poinsettias will compete against the QRL's Northern and Central Divisions as well as the other SEQ representative team. The Queensland Rangers team will be selected from the carnival.
