Queensland team claim 15 Years title

Congratulations to the Queensland Maroon side who claimed this year’s 15 Years National Championships in Mackay. 

The team was undefeated through the carnival and defeated NSW CCC 36-10 in the grand final. 

Team captain Xaivier Va’a from St Mary’s College, Toowoomba said the team bonded well over two weeks and the performance in the grand final was a great reward for effort.

Queensland fullback Tuvalli Khan-Pereira from Keebra Park State High School was named Player of the Final, front rower Daniel Ah Chong from Redbank Plains State High School was named Maroons Player of the Carnival, while halfback and vice captain Ezra Mam from Ambrose Treacy College, Brisbane was named Overall Player of the Championships after a dominant display all week. 

“The group all performed to a high standard over the two weeks of our training camp and the Championships,” Maroons coach Joe O’Callaghan from Marsden State High School said.

“The boys were eager to learn and represented the Queensland jersey with great pride.”

The Queensland Whites have also had a successful National Championships with the team undefeated against interstate teams, winning three of their four matches in convincing fashion. 

Hooker Zachery Alley from Ipswich Grammar School was named the Whites Player of the Carnival.

The Australian Schoolboys select a Merit Team from the Championships, with the following Queensland players selected:
