Super Saturday of women's and junior girls finals

Nine games, featuring everything from teenage juniors to Jillaroo stars, will be played this Saturday at Pinklands Oval with the senior SEQ Women's Division 1 final taking place at 4pm.

The game between Brothers Ipswich and West Brisbane Panthers will decide who advances to CBUS Super Stadium for the grand final on August 11 where they will meet the three-time defending premiers, Burleigh.

Burleigh booked their place in the decider with a 18-6 win over Brothers Ipswich in last week's major semi-final, while the Panthers upset the East Tigers 22-12 in their elimination final.

The sides last met in the final round of the regular season, with Brothers Ipswich running out 38-14 winners. That result is unlikely to rattle the Panthers, however, since they picked up a pair of wins over Brothers Ipswich in Round 6 (20-10) and Round 11 (32-12).

Kicking off at 2.45pm, the Division 2 preliminary final will feature minor premiers the Murri Taipans taking on the Southport Tigers.

Southport are fresh off a 12-10 elimination win over Inala while the Taipans are looking to bounce back from a 16-14 loss to Souths.

Ormeau will take on Flagstone in the Division 3 fixture at 1.30pm. Minor premiers Mount Gravatt await the winner in the grand final.

Proceeding the senior fixtures will be six junior girls semi-finals from the Under 14s, Under 16s and Under 18s age groups.

The presence of juniors, with games starting from 10.30am, is sure to help create a carnival atmosphere as the best players of today and the promising stars of tomorrow gather at the same ground.
