Moranbah-based match official Chris Anderson has been appointed to referee his first Intrust Super Cup grand final.
Anderson, 34, will assume the lead referee responsibilities for the big clash between the Redcliffe Dolphins and Easts Tigers at Suncorp Stadium.
The Mackay & District Referees’ Association member will team up with Brisbane’s Liam Kennedy, who is also officiating his first Intrust Super Cup grand final as the assistant referee.
Anderson (pictured, has chalked up 166 games in the middle in Queensland’s premier statewide competition since making his debut in 2010.
In that same year, he controlled the FOGS Cup grand final and Mackay & District premiership decider.
Kennedy has enjoyed a breakthrough year, making his debut in the National Rugby League as both an assist referee and touch judge.
He was also the assist referee for the annual Residents representative clash between Queensland and New South Wales.
He has previous grand final experience in the Brisbane Rugby League, FOGS Colts and Mal Meninga Cup.
Supporting Anderson and Kennedy as touch judges are Jarrod Cole and Dan Munroe.
In the Under 20s competition, Daniel Schwass will have the honour of refereeing the inaugural Hastings Deering Colts grand final.
The Gold Coast match official has been in top form in 2018, refereeing the State and National 18 Years Schoolboys finals as well as the Mal Meninga Cup grand final.
His touch judges will be Jordan Morel and Nik Inthout.
