Warriors hooker Wayde Egan has signed a contract extension which will see him remain at the club until the end of 2024.

Egan was due to come off contract at the end of 2022 but the new deal will carry him in to a fifth season at the Warriors, where he has played 38 games since moving from Penrith.

“We’re really excited to have Wayde with us for a further two years,” said Warriors general manager football Craig Hodges.

“He impressed throughout the season giving us real consistency with his work at hooker. We like what he brings to the squad and to the club as a whole with his work ethic as well as his attitude off the field where he has a passion for community causes.”

Two-time premiership winner Api Koroisau has found a new home in 2023, with the Wests Tigers securing the services of the Panthers hooker on a three-year agreement.

Sharks hooker Blayke Brailey has signed a contract extension which will see him remain in the Shire until at least the end of 2026.

The 23-year-old was already contracted to the Sharks for 2022 but has inked a new four-year deal.

“It’s the place I grew up, I was a local junior, I obviously wanted to stay here, so I’m excited to be a part of the future,” Brailey said. “This was my first choice, I really wanted to stay, so I’m grateful to get it done.”

Broncos centre Jesse Arthars will join the Warriors in 2022 after the two clubs came to a mutual agreement for the 23-year-old to switch clubs on loan.

Arthars had two years remaining on his Broncos contract and is expected to return to Red Hill in 2023 to complete the final year of his deal.

"We really appreciate the co-operation from the Broncos and the support of Jesse’s family in making this move possible,” said Warriors general manager football Craig Hodges.

“It has been a great example of how football clubs can work together for the benefit of all involved.

“Jesse is a terrific young player and a wonderful young man. He’ll add a lot to our squad."

Kiwis star Joseph Manu will remain with the Sydney Roosters until at least the end of the 2024 season after extending his contract for a further two years.

“The Roosters is home to me and I couldn’t see myself playing for another club. From the top down, I love this club,” Manu said. "It’s a privilege to wear the Roosters jersey and I’m excited for what the future holds."

Contracts By Club

Meanwhile, the Dolphins have landed their first major signing with Storm forward Felise Kaufusi signing on for three years from 2023.

Kaufusi is the first target successfully landed by the expansion club ahead of their admission to the NRL.

“It is imperative the Dolphins build a squad that contains players of representative calibre and Felise certainly fits that mould,” said Dolphins CEO Terry Reader.

“He has played 12 Origin matches for Queensland as well as representing Australia, so will bring some important experience to the playing group we are building to debut in the competition.

“The fact that that he grew up in Bundaberg is also a positive for Queensland’s newest professional sporting team."

Storm and Maroons team-mate Christian Welch has extended his contract with the Melbourne until the end of 2025.

Widely regarded as one of the NRL's best front-rowers, Welch has played 117 games for the Storm since debuting in 2015 and won a premiership in 2020.

“I’m so passionate about what we are about at Storm and all the people involved, from the players and staff to our amazing fans and corporate partners,” Welch said.

Middle forward Patrick Carrigan has committed to the Broncos until the end of the 2024 season after inking a two-year contract extension.

The 23-year-old, who has made 46 NRL appearances since debuting in round five of the 2019 season, is considered a leader at the club and Brisbane football and performance director Ben Ikin said: "We are lucky to have him".

Meanwhile, star rookie Jayden Sullivan has committed his future to the Dragons until at least the end of the 2025 season.

"To be able to stay home and continue my career in front of my friends and family, I couldn't be any happier. The club means a lot to me," Sullivan said

In other news, Luciano Leilua will leave Wests Tigers at the end of the 2022 season to take up a long-term deal with the Cowboys.

Leilua joined the Tigers at the start of the 2020 season and the club believes he will remain firmly committed to delivering his best football in 2022 before taking up a three year deal with the Cowboys in 2023.

Elswhere, former Queensland Origin prop Dylan Napa will join Mitchell Pearce at Catalans after signing a two year deal, with an option for a third season, with the French Super League club.

Cowboys utility forward Reuben Cotter has turned down interest from rival clubs to continue playing in Townsville until at least the end of the 2025 season.

A home-grown North Queensland product, Cotter has emerged as a Cowboys fan favourite through his tenacious style of play and has signed a three-year contract extension.

“We’re thrilled Reuben has extended for a further three seasons. He had significant interest from other clubs, but expressed his desire to remain here and we were able to get a deal done quickly,” Cowboys GM of football Micheal Luck said.

“Reuben is a North Queensland kid who has all the characteristics we’re looking to build this club around. He’s tough, resilient, hard-working and loyal, which are the features we are looking to instil in our playing group."

Meanwhile, the Titans have secured a massive coup by re-signing powerhouse Tino Fa'asuamaleaui until the end of 2026.

The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the game's best young talents and has already played 49 NRL games and six Origins for the Maroons.

"Tino is not just a great player, he is a great person," said Titans coach Justin Holbrook.

"Tino is our hardest working player who sets very high standards for himself and is always doing extras after training to improve his game."
