The Queensland Rugby League family has come together to rally behind flood affected communities in North Queensland.
Alongside The North Queensland Cowboys, the Maroons Foundation - North Queensland Rugby League Relief Fund has been launched to provide immediate financial support to the affected clubs.
The parochial support of Queenslanders digging deep to support those in need has already resulted in more than $50,000 being raised for the North Queensland Rugby League Relief Fund.
Queensland Rugby League CEO, Ben Ikin has added his full support to the cause.
“When our rugby league family in North Queensland got hit hard by the recent weather events it didn’t take long for the rest of the family to rally,” Ikin said.
“Our three NRL clubs in southeast Queensland joined with people from all over the state to make donations to the Maroons Foundation relief fund, which we know will make a huge difference to the clubs and families who have been impacted.
Rugby league people certainly know how to help each other in tough times, it’s the thing I love most about this game.

Rugby League in the North is facing one of its toughest challenges, with recent floods causing widespread devastation to clubs across the region.
Many have suffered extensive damage, losing entire clubhouses, infrastructure, and crucial equipment. The financial impact is estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Donations and support:
- Westpac: $10,000
- NRL & Queensland based NRL Clubs (Brisbane Broncos, Gold Coast Titans, The Dolphins): $40,000
- North Queensland Cowboys: Directly supporting the following:
- $10,000 to Ingham Crushers plus $10,000 matched donation by XXXX
- $10,000 to GIVIT Flood Appeal via Cowboys Community Foundation plus - $10,000 matched donation by Toyota
- $5,000 to Clubs Queensland Clubs Care Campaign via Cowboys Leagues Club
- $20,000 in Home Game One tickets to the effected communities - Other donations: $3,000
The outpouring of generosity from the rugby league community highlights the true spirit of the game - one that stands together in times of adversity.
