On the 28th October, Scotland Braveheart’s and Ireland Wolfhounds went head to head in Round 1 of the European Championship. This matchup doubled as a qualifier for 2021 Rugby League World Cup. 

The match featured former Northern Pride premiership winning forward Tyrone McCarthy, and Ipswich Jets hard man Billy McConnachie.

Ireland opened the scoring through experienced forward Tyrone McCarthy, and the Wolfhounds went on to score a further 3 tries to establish a decisive lead at the half time break. 

Ireland were first to score in the second half, with winger Alan McMahon crossing in the corner.

Scotland attempted to muster a comeback with back to back tries over an eight-minute period. However, the comeback was short lived with Ireland running in a further two tries to claim a convincing 36-10 victory over Scotland.
