The Souths Logan Magpies celebrated their rich history with Women's Rugby League with the unveiling of their Honour Board and first induction into their Hall of Fame – the inimitable Karyn Murphy.
The night – themed 'Back to Black and White' was their 20th anniversary of Women's Rugby League at the club – and also doubled as their club presentation evening.
Normally, the club would have incorporated the women's awards into their club awards night (where Brendon Gibb took home the Intrust Super Cup Player of the Year Award) – but with many players involved in the NRLW competition; they were unable to attend.
The 2018 Souths Logan Magpies Women's award winners are listed below:
Best Back: Meg Ward
Best Forward: Lilly Miako
Most Valuable Player: Mia Carter
Player of the Year: Annette Brander
Guests at the night included their first women's coach David Lee and many of their former players, with their 20-year team also announced.
Murphy was named captain and her fellow Queensland Women's Origin team assistant coach Nat Dwyer was named vice captain of the team.
Australian Jillaroos and Brisbane Broncos captain Ali Brigginshaw, although now playing Brother Ipswich, was a welcomed guest who also helped present the Best Back award and was acknowledged in the 100 Game Club along with Murphy, Renae Kunst, Dwyer, Tracey Thompson and Amie Solomona.
